Writing the dreaded first draft…

posted by admin in Uncategorized

It doesn’t matter what you’re writing – a will, a novel, even a shopping list – writing a first draft is never easy. For most people it begins with plenty of ideas and flow and then quickly changes into a task of erasing and procrastinating. Which is why, today, I thought I’d do some tips on writing a first draft. Once you have these under your belt you’ll get there faster and with less stress!
1) Don’t do it on a computer, do it by hand: this might seem long-winded and ridiculous – and of course it does take more physical energy to write by hand – but actually it’s the best solution. Let’s say you’re writing some web content for a company that sells bespoke three piece suits online. Now, it’s necessary to input a lot of keywords for this job, and to keep revising the text…

all the while you’ll use the notes to give you yet more inspiration…

Steps in the right direction

posted by admin in Uncategorized

The current government has done many things that the general public is not all that happy about, but it has made steps in the right direction on few issues. Such as the proposal to make gay marriage legal and the news that David Cameron has called for a total disclose of the information and secret papers surrounding the horrific 1986 Hillsborough disaster, where 96 Liverpool FC fans were tragically killed.

Actually writing a blog: tips

posted by admin in Uncategorized

When I first started writing a blog, it was all very new and fresh and exciting with so many possibilities: there was so much to do, and so much I didn’t understand. But, as I started to learn more and more, it got easier. My articles got swifter and easier to do, too. And within 6 months signing in to my blog to write was as easy and comfortable as anything I did.

And in a way, that’s the problem with blogging; it’s easy to get blasé, and one of the most difficult things to do is to consistently write posts. At the beginning ideas come to you easily, but after a while – and especially when people start subscribing and you have something to live up to – you struggle to think…before you know it weeks are going by without you writing a single thing on it.

With any subject there are an unlimited number of topics which are affiliated with it and which are appropriate to blog about

So how, then, do you consistently blog? Here are a few tips and bits I have picked up along the way.

  1. Accept that there are times when you don’t want to blog: if you accept this from the beginning it becomes so much easier to deal with when the inevitable ideas stop flowing.

  2. Know what people want to hear about and tag accordingly: the cool thing with blogging is that the more you blog, the more interest you can attract with tags. So if you’re writing a blog about commercial pop up display stands , and you tag those words along with other things which your customers might type into a search engine, you’re likely to attract other readers besides – especially if you feel like going off topic. This means they tell their friends and before you know it, you have yet more subscribers.

  3. Don’t be afraid to write about various different things: as with the above example, don’t be confined to writing about just that. With any subject there are an unlimited number of topics which are affiliated with it and which are appropriate to blog about. This also keeps it interesting, and in the world of blogs interesting is a fine thing!

  4. Keep changing your layout but remember to keep the theme the same! This one is a biggie. Blog readers often get bored, so giving them something colourful to look at and admire is always a great way of keeping up the interest. More to the point it gives the impression you are maintaining your blog without even having to do very much.

Why Do We Study?

Until recently I have always been convinced that receiving good university education is the only path a person can undertake if he wants to succeed. And when graduating with a good class, I have always though one can get a good job and start a career. But this was until recently… now I am angry at the system of recruitment in the UK and after making observations, I believe UK graduates would find it more than difficult to manage to More

Smile the smartness of life

Smile the smartness of life

An authentic smile from a person’s inward soul will keep him healthy and happy. Phyllis Driller says, “A smile is a curve that sets everything straight” and “you are not fully dressed until you wear a smile” said Mahatma Gandhi. When we smile we get friends and when we scowl we get wrinkles and make enemies. Smile is very important to release positive energy. It creates empathy and helps one to find acceptance. Ways To Not Be Lonely

Whether you’re a writer or a trainee astronaut, you’ll be well aware that sitting in a room for hours on end can be dull and boring sometimes. If you ask me, what you create out of that boredom surpasses any desire to stop doing it, but I can understand how some people prefer to be with people. I mean, even I prefer to be with people whenever possible. Except when I am writing, of course. When I’m doing that I’m probably best left alone.

Managing space

Managing space

You cannot be a bigger dramatic change into your house, than by changing your wall colour. But not many would think about changing the actual shape of it. Many times we face space issues where we would have wished that we could have changed the interior in terms of shape or proportion. For example some houses may have a bathroom right next to the loo, this will surely bring into your mind the desire to break the wall in between. More

Why I love “The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time”

posted by admin in Uncategorized

I could explain that title by just saying “because it is sheer brilliance,” or “because I think it’s much better than most other simple easy to read books, because…It’s amazing!” but both of these sentences don’t do much to really get to the heart of the book; also, this fine piece of work was produced after a few books written by Mark Haddon which never even made it to publication, so it was a well-earned success. (Though it is brilliant, More
